Whether you're suffering from aches and pains, recovering from an injury or feeling stressed from daily life, massage can be a great therapy. Benefits of massage include:
Relieving stress and tension
Reducing or eliminating pain
Improving joint mobility
Improving circulation.
Improving lymphatic drainage
Reducing muscular tension
Speeding up or aiding recovery from injury.
Depending on the each individual, the type of massage and techniques used will vary. Rachel practises deep tissue and more specific sports massage, which are extremely beneficial for both acute and chronic conditions.
Through clinical experience, we have found that in some cases a combination of both Massage and Acupuncture can be highly effective and efficient in the treatment of many musculoskeletal conditions. However, this would always be discussed with the patient individually.
A review from one of our regulars:
"I have been seeing Rachel for some time now. I was training for a full ironman in that took place in July 17 and prior to this from about Sept 16 had been suffering from piriformis syndrome. I had seen other people Physio and sports therapist's and had a couple of weeks in full time therapy. I started seeing Rachel in April 17 and have seen her nearly every week since. I had issues with tight Quads/ Glutes/hamstrings and still the piriformis was playing up. I got to do my race with out the tightness thanks to her expertise in sports Massage and Acupuncture. I'd recommend her to anyone who asks for a great remedial masseur. I'm still seeing Rachel for routine maintenance. Thanks for helping me get through ironman training and the race of my life." - Tony, York
